Hyderabad: The State Bank of India (SBI) has urged its customers to link their Permanent Account Number (PAN) to an Aadhaar card by March 31. The bank has issued the notice to customers to ensure that the mandatory task is completed so that banking services are not affected. .
“We advise our customers to link their PAN to Aadhaar to avoid any inconvenience and continue to enjoy a transparent banking service,” SBI tweeted, adding that “if not linked, PAN will be rendered inoperative/ inactive and cannot be used to perform specific transactions.”
The bank had extended the deadline to link PAN to Aadhaar from September 30, 2021 to March 31, 2022, keeping a view on the ongoing pandemic.

Here is how you can link the PAN-Aadhaar card:
Step 1: Go to the official income tax website https://www. incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home.
Step 2: Click on “Aadhaar Link”.
Step 3: On the new page, enter your PAN and Aadhaar details.
Step 4: Select “I only have the year of birth on the aadhaar card” if only your date of birth is mentioned on the document.
Step 5: Check the details via captcha code or choose OTP option.
Step 6: Select Aadhaar link button and your PAN and Aadhaar will be linked.
Method 2: Connect PAN and Aadhaar via SMS
Step 1: Type – UIDPAN in the message box.
Step 2: Send the message to 567678 or 56161, and your PAN will be linked to your Aadhaar card.
