SBI launches new toll-free number for a multitude of banking services


The country’s largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI), has added a new toll-free number for a variety of financial services to better serve its customers. By dialing this new contact center number, customers can perform necessary and fundamental banking activities from the comfort of their own home or any other location, saving them the time and inconvenience of visiting a bank or the use of an electronic medium. Through a recent tweet posted on June 23, 2022, SBI said, “Dial our new easy-to-remember number for on-the-go banking assistance! Call the SBI Contact Center toll free on 1800 1234.”

By using this new toll-free number, SBI customers can perform banking services such as Account Balance/Last 5 Transactions, ATM Card Blocked and Dispatched Status, Carnet Dispatched Status of cheques, TDS details and certificate of deposit interest by e-mail, and request for a new bank card after blocking the previous one. For the benefit of its customers, SBI has mentioned on its website that “Please call SBI’s 24X7 helpline number i.e. 1800 1234 (toll free), 1800 11 2211 (toll free), 1800 425 3800 (freephone), 1800 2100 (freephone) or 080-26599990. The freephone numbers are accessible from all landlines and mobiles in the country.”

In addition to the new SBI customer service number mentioned above, individuals can also call the toll free number: 1800 2100, the toll free number: 1800 11 2211, the toll free number: 1800 425 3800 and the toll free number: 080-26599990. These numbers are listed on the SBI website, and customers can use any number to file complaints. In order to report unauthorized transactions, SBI customers can call 1800 11 1109 (freephone number), 94491 12211 (mobile number, free) or 080 – 2659 9990 (toll number). These free numbers are accessible from all landlines and mobiles in India. SBI mentioned on its website that “SBI now provides your account balance and transaction details over the phone 24 hours a day. Information on deposit and loan schemes and services are also available.”

Customers who are not satisfied with the telephone resolutions of their complaints or who are tech-savvy and wish to lodge a complaint immediately can email [email protected] or [email protected] Individuals will receive a ticket number by SMS or email once their complaint or request has been successfully registered.

Customers who wish to raise their concerns by mail can type “HELP” and send it to “918108511111”. Those who are dissatisfied with the services offered by the bank can type “UNHAPPY” and text it to 8008 20 20 20. According to the SBI website “Send text “HELP” to “918108511111” for a full list of services in response by SMS. You can block the ATM card linked to the registered account in case of loss/theft. To block the ATM card, send an SMS from the mobile number registered as “BLOCK XXXX” to 567676 ( XXXX represents the last 4 digits of the card number).”
