Sampath Bank brings banking services to the Ministry of Immigration and Emigration

December 13, Colombo: Sampath Bank dedicated its new point of service to the Sri Lankan public at the “Suhurupaya” premises of the Department of Immigration and Emigration in Battaramulla.
This mini-branch was declared open by Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in the presence of Deepal De Silva, DGM – Operations & Branch Banking; Rajendra Ranasinghe, AGM – Incoming Remittances/KPO/BNO; Udara Suraweera, AGM – Operations; Banduwarna Piyasena, Manager – Operations; Wajira Hewage, Manager – Incoming Remittances; and Buddhike Dissanayake, Manager – Battaramulla Branch; from Sampath Bank as well as representatives from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Department of Immigration and Emigration and Sampath Bank.
An extension office of the Battaramulla branch of the Bank, this service point will offer a wide range of services ranging from opening new rupee and foreign currency (FC) accounts and issuing debit cards to banking services online Sampath Vishwa for advice and assistance on remittance services. .
Beyond bringing financial services closer to its customers, Sampath Bank believes that this new site will allow it to raise awareness of the importance of sending and receiving money from abroad through formal channels there. . This is another initiative undertaken by the Bank to support the efforts of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka to encourage all Sri Lankans living and working around the world to send money to Sri Lanka through licensed banks (LB) and other internationally accepted formal channels.
