PNB will offer banking services on WhatsApp. Check here how to activate the service

State-owned Punjab National Bank has decided to offer its banking services on WhatsApp as part of new era facilities for customers. According to a notification shared by the bank, a series of services will be offered to customers on WhatsApp, which will be available 24 hours a day for 365 days on Android and iOS phones. The services will also be offered to non-customers, who wish to obtain information on various programs, loans and other products.

How to opt for the services

Customers will first need to save the official PNB WhatsApp number, which is +919264092640, on their phone. After that, as with any other conversation, the customer should send a “Hi” to that number on the Whatsapp chat.

A message with Menu will appear on the customer’s screen. Once received, customers can choose the services offered by clicking on the menu.

Clients should note that they should first check whether the PNB account is genuine or not before starting any communication. To check this, customers should see if there are any green ticks with Punjab National Bank profile name on WhatsApp. If the check marks are not present, customers should double check the details and re-register the correct number.

Banking services available on WhatsApp

A customer can view their account balance, last five transactions, check stop status, and more. Additionally, they can also request a new checkbook on WhatsApp.

Specific services for non-account holders

Customers who do not hold an account with the bank can ask questions such as how to open an account online, details of bank deposit/loan products, digital products, NRI services on WhatsApp through the same service. Also, they can find out about branches/ATMs in their locality.

Apart from PNB, State Bank of India and HDFC Bank also offer similar services on Whatsapp. The SBI WhatsApp number is 7208933148 while the HDFC number is 7070022222. The registration process is similar to that adopted by PNB.
