J&K Bank MD provides banking update for Yatris – Kashmir Reader


SRINAGAR: In view of taking stock of J&K Bank’s readiness to provide banking services to devotees during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra – 2022, CEO & CEO Baldev Prakash visited Baltal Base Camp near Sonamarg with Director General Tabassum Nazir and other senior officers.
Commenting on the occasion, CEO and CEO Baldev Prakash said, “I am pleased to see that in addition to facilitating smooth Yatris check-in through dedicated support desks at our designated business units across the country , we have set up an elaborate and easily accessible system to provide all banking services and facilities, especially from the base camps to the sacred cave.
“With the convenience of the public at the heart of our service philosophy, we have set up numerous special counters, mobile vans and micro vending machines along Yatra Road to easily provide basic banking services to pilgrims as well as a cash collection facility at the sacred cave itself,” MD added.
Wishing all devotees good luck on their upcoming journey, he reiterated the Bank’s commitment to provide them with all necessary banking facilities and services during the Yatra.
In addition to providing the Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) for online registration of Yatra permits nationwide this year, the Bank has also set up special counters equipped with an ATM at four stations in heliport for Yatris airlift in helicopters with special provision for VIPs. The Bank will facilitate online and offline tickets for duly registered Yatris at these appropriately equipped counters.
In the event of cancellation, registered Yatris can also have their chopper tickets refunded instantly at these bank counters. On the instructions of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, the Bank provided ten donation boxes to be placed at bank counters while displaying QR codes also for secure online donations to the shrine on these sites.
Notably, with Yatra set to start from June 30, J&K Bank alone has so far registered more than 62,000 followers from across the country. The Yatra is scheduled to take place for 43 days until August 11, 2022. Notably, the Bank has established counters in 90 designated business units for registration, which will remain open until August 4, 2022.
Meanwhile, during the visit, MD also interacted with some prominent hoteliers in Sonamarg and assured them of the Bank’s full support for tourism and its affiliated businesses.
