But is Barclays’ online banking still down – and is the Barclays app the most affected by the outage?

Here’s what we know so far.

Is Barclays online banking down?

Barclays customers took to social media on Wednesday morning to complain to the bank about not being able to access Barclays online banking services and its mobile app.

Among the issues reported to Barclays Twitter accounts were users repeatedly logging out of the app or being told by in-app messages that they didn’t have an account with the app.

As of 7:45 a.m., online banking appeared to be mostly resolved by the bank – with the Barclays Services Status site claiming “everything is working as it should” on Barclays and websites like barclaycard.co.uk.

Barclays apps still not working?

Although some of the issues with Barclays online banking services appear to have been resolved, problems experienced by customers trying to access Barclays applications persist.

It comes after 68% of reports reported to DownDetector for Barclays service issues focused on mobile banking, with these reflected in large red ‘X’ symbols for the Barclays app and Barclaycard app on the bank’s service status web page.

“We’re sorry, we’re fixing an issue with our app right now” read the notices in addition to the not working symbols.

When will the Barclays app issues be resolved?

Although Barclays UK has yet to issue a broad response to customers reporting issues with the platform’s mobile banking apps, its “Help” account on Twitter has responded to individual tweets tagging its accounts.

Barclays Twitter account, Help Barclays United Kingdomtold a number of users: “We are aware of some issues with the app and are working to get it back up and running, please accept our apologies!

“You can check our progress here: https://status.uk.barclays.

“Online banking is working normally if you need to do anything with your account.

“Thank you for your patience.”

Barclay’s status page also allows customers to choose to receive a message when issues with apps have been resolved.

The Scot has contacted Barclays UK for a comment.
