IFIC Bank has launched a special service “IFIC Freelancer Service Package” for freelancers working in Bangladesh to bring their overseas earned income to their bank accounts quickly, securely, transparently and simultaneously providing them with all kinds of banking services.

The launching ceremony for the service package was held at IFIC Tower, Purana Paltan, Dhaka on September 4, according to a press release.

Chairman of IFIC Bank Limited and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Private Industry and Investment Salman F Rahman, MP and Managing Director and CEO of IFIC Bank Shah A Sarwar, Chairman of Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society Dr Tanjiba Rahman , Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, officials from IFIC bank, representatives from Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society (BFDS), freelancers, various professionals and journalists were present at the program.

Salman F Rahman, speaking as the main guest, said that today Bangladesh has become the “digital Bangladesh” thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and his ICT advisor Sajib Wazed Joy.

“When many first world countries were struggling during the Covid-19 pandemic, we survived because we were able to become a digital nation. Now is the time for us to become a smart Bangladesh, the 4th industrial revolution is about to happen. We must be prepared for technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced robotics, Internet of Things, machine learning, etc. The self-employed have an important role to play in this sector. Previously, there was no social recognition of the self-employed. I worked towards this goal as directed by the Prime Minister and with the support of the ICT Division and Minister of State Zunaid Ahmed Palak, I was able to introduce an identification system for freelancers. Today, the income history of freelancers will be created through this account, therefore, freelancers will be able to improve themselves and improve the country by taking various banking facilities. Today’s freelancers are tomorrow’s entrepreneurs, to achieve this goal, IFIC Bank will always be at their side. In the future, thanks to the hard work of freelancers, it will be possible to derive the same amount of foreign income from the ICT sector as from the ready-to-wear sector.

Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society (BFDS) President Tanjiba Rahman said that about six and a half lac freelancers are actively working in our country. Many of them often find it difficult to transfer their income earned abroad to their accounts in Bangladesh.
