With digitization, banking has become easier for customers in India as they do not need to travel to the bank for every transaction or to withdraw cash. Today, almost all private and public banks offer their service online. To make the process even easier, several banks are now using WhatsApp, which is one of the most widely used instant messaging apps in India, to provide service.
HDFC Bank has been providing banking services via WhatsApp for quite some time now. The lender recently informed via a tweet on August 1 that it has updated HDFC Bank’s WhatsApp banking services.
The tweet read: “Smart Chat Assist, 90+ banking services, intuitive AI and more are now in your hands with the all-new HDFC Bank ChatBanking on WhatsApp. So drop by and say “Hello” to 7070022222 for a super friendly banking experience.
Steps to activate HDFC Bank WhatsApp Banking on your phone
Step 1: Send “Hi” or “Join” to the Chat Banking number 7070022222 via your WhatsApp number which should also be the mobile number registered by your bank. Then proceed to registration. You will receive a customer ID and a one-time password received by SMS to your registered mobile number. Use username and password to activate HDFC Bank banking chat on WhatsApp.
2nd step: After registration, you will get options like account services, credit card services, product request and more options under this system.
Step 3: You can select the Account Services option to check the account balance or get a mini statement. Under the Account Services option, you will also see Balance Inquiry, 7-Day Recent Transactions, and Account Statement options.
Step 4: You just need to enter the services you need depending on how the chatbot guides you.
The service is available to customers free of charge and the use of the new HDFC banking chat on WhatsApp is free. All HDFC Bank customers can use Chat Banking to get details about their accounts, cards, loans, request new products and services. You can use Chat Banking on WhatsApp even if you don’t have an account with the lender, to request various products on accounts, cards, loans and other products and services.
