Frustrated customers after Coast Capital announces temporary suspension of banking services

Coast Capital Savings customers took to the internet to share their frustrations this week as the bank announced a temporary suspension of all in-person and online services coming in April.

The breakdown will take place from April 8-13, during which time Coast Capital will be upgrading its banking systems, resulting in the closure of branches, digital banking and its Coast-by-Phone service.

The bank recommends customers complete all major transactions by April 8, with branches closing at 7:00 p.m. PST that day.

Adding to the frustration, after reopening, the bank will be closed two more working days for the Easter long weekend.

Although branches are closed, ATMs will still be available for cash withdrawals, deposits and PIN changes and customers will still be able to make purchases with their debit card.

During the outage, customers will not be able to log in to Coast Online Banking, Coast Mobile Banking App and Coast Online Business Banking.

Agencies will also not be reachable by phone.

Coast Capital reminds its customers that they will not contact you to ask for personal information during the outage, to prevent potential fraud.

Coast Capital says the advice center will be open 24 hours a day.

The bank has confirmed that pre-authorized payments scheduled during the outage will be processed as normal.
