NAIROBI, Kenya, October 21 –Equity Bank has rebranded its online banking offering, formerly known as Eazzy Net, to Equity Online as part of the bank’s strategy to deliver a seamless customer experience across all banking channels.
In a statement, the bank said that as part of the update, the new platform will provide a unified service offering across all channels, an improved customer experience with easier customer journeys, a new and user-friendly interface. .
Also, the platform will offer more digital financial services such as buying Mpesa floats, paying for parking, among others.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of digital banking and payment solutions by prompting consumers to change their behaviors and adopt more technologies to help them in their daily lives in all aspects, including their finances” , the bank said.
Equity Group CEO and Managing Director James Mwangi said customer adoption of digital offerings will ease the pace of business transformation.
Additionally, the bank has added new features on its mobile app and the USSD code *247#.
Customers transacting using the Equity mobile app will now be able to select a specific transaction on the mini statement to view more details such as the name of the payee.
Customers using *247# USSD code can now access the service in all telecom operators in Kenya and additionally apply for mobile loans such as Eazzy Loan.
Previously, the USSD code was only available on the Safaricom network, thus preventing customers of other telecommunications operators from accessing the services. Customers can register themselves by dialing *247# on their mobile lines.
