Veteran Bankers Jeffrey Thomas, James Diver to provide business loan services

TACOMA, Wash., July 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Columbia Bank, the wholly owned subsidiary of Columbia Banking System, Inc. (NASDAQ: COLB) (“Colombia“), today announced the expansion of its business lending division to Utah with veteran hires Salt Lake City– regional bankers Jeffrey Thomas and James Diver.

Thomas and Divver, both with over 20 years of experience in banking management Utahwill build a dedicated team to deliver the full range of business lending services that Colombia deals on a footprint that also includes Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho. The executives will associate Columbia resources, technology and scope of services with deep Utah market expertise and local decision-making at the service Utah businesses and residents.

Earlier in his career, he held senior management positions at Zions Bank in Utah. Graduated from University of Utahhe also earned an MBA from Westminster College. Thomas is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School in University of Washington as well.

Joining Thomas is Divver, who joins as senior vice president and business development officer.

Divver previously served as Senior Vice President of Government Relations for Zions Bank. For two decades at Zions, he held positions of increasing responsibility. During his tenure, he oversaw the bank’s sales resource team, private/executive banking, new business and Zions insurance agency. Divver holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Utah.
